Responding to a call from a Government Authority, Aspect Land & Hydrographic Surveys Ltd mobilised within 24 hours to complete a pre-dredge bathymetric survey of Peel Harbour, Isle of Man to enable much needed dredging works to be undertaken. The works were required at short notice due to a delay in mobilisation by a previously appointed contractor.

The works were completed using the vessel Coastal Sensor, an MCA Cat III survey RIB owned and operated by Aspect, fully equipped with an RTK GPS positioning system, Applanix POS MV and R2Sonic 2022 multibeam system.

Whilst mobilised, the client instructed additional works including a survey of Port St Mary and approaches as part of a marine navigational safety exercise, thus offering obvious cost benefits in additional to the required data sets.

The project was completed in a total of 4 days, including mobilisation, demobilisation, post-processing and reporting, with the Peel Harbour data set ready for issue before the survey team demobilised from the island.
