Following an successful tender submission, Aspect Land & Hydrographic Surveys Ltd completed a combined geophysical and geotechnical survey in waters adjacent to Energy Park Fife, achieving better than expected results for the known soft sediment geology.
Combined multibeam, geophysical and magnetometer surveys were completed over a pre-determined area, with all data being used by environmental consultants in the preparation of a capital dredge license.
Utilising vibrocore technology, No. 12 vibrocore samples, to a depth of 3m in some areas, were recovered before being logged, sub-sampled and sent to a UKAS accredited laboratory for further analysis in line with Marine Scotland guidelines. Although adverse weather was encountered, this high-priority project was completed ahead of the original project deadline.
