Aspect
Land & Hydrographic Surveys owns and operates its own survey
vessels, used throughout the UK on a variety of survey projects
enabling fast and efficient mobilisation to site of our survey
teams, sometimes at short notice, where of benefit to the client.

MV
Seahorse (Argyll Workboats)
Aspect
Land & Hydrographic Surveys have a working relationship
with Argyll Workboats Ltd for charter of their vessel
for offshore survey projects.
MV
Seahorse is an ideal offshore survey vessel with multi-disciplinary
functionality. Combined simultaneous data capture of multibeam
bathymetry, side-scan sonar and geophysical sensors over
24-hour working periods are well within the vessel's capabilities.
The
vessel has accommodation for 8 personnel with a survey
room, galley, mess room and lounge facilities. Deployment
and recovery of survey equipment is safely and efficiently
carried out on the spacious 70m2 of working area available
on the aft deck. There is an enclosed workshop to mob
/ demob and calibrate equipment undercover from the elements.
A
large 6 tonne hiab with winch wire and a 3 tonne derrick
are also available, used in the deployment of ADCP units
and geotechnical equipment such as gravity and vibro-coring.

Remote
Sensor
Our
purpose-built survey vessel, Remote Sensor, is an MCA
Cat III 8.0m road transportable shallow-draught catamaran with
forward cabin, stainless steel keel bands, tunnelled rear hulls,
central moon-pool, 10.0kVa water-cooled diesel generator and
twin 90Hp engines mounted on jacks, making it ideal for operation
within shallow water.
Remote
Sensor is capable of survey in up to Force 4-5 Beaufort
wind scale due to its excellent sea going capabilities. The
vessel is a twin hulled catamaran and is very stable even when
‘beam on’ in a swell. Survey works have continued in conditions
where traditional monohull vessels have had to retire.
Remote
Sensor has the power to return to harbour quickly and safely
in the event of a sudden change in conditions. The vessel hulls
are lined with stainless steel keels band enabling beaching
of the vessel in extreme circumstances, with the obvious benefits
to personnel regarding health & safety.

Available
for charter hire, including coxswain, Remote
Sensor is
an ideal platform for hydrographic and oceanographic survey
disciplines, including bathymetry surveys, ADCP deployment and
recovery, current & turbidity monitoring, ROV & underwater camera
inspections, grab sampling, diver led operations, engineering
site assessment visits, RTK GPS positioning services and support
to civil and marine engineering projects.
The
large, spacious cabin allows up to 6 personnel to work in relative
comfort and is equipped with kettle, sink, fresh water, microwave,
heater, fluorescent lighting and toilet to enable a full day
of operation thus offering the client value for money.
Remote
Sensor is routinely deployed to complete surveys throughout
the entire UK coastline, inland waterways and in the Western
Isles, Orkney & Shetland. Fully compliant with all Dangerous
Goods Legislation to enable transportation by ferry, the vessel
is fully equipped with all necessary Health & Safety equipment
including life-raft, with hydrostatic release, distress flares,
lifejackets and survival suits.
Client
representatives are welcome aboard during survey works but must
complete a Health & Safety induction prior to boarding.

Coastal
Sensor
Coastal
Sensor is a road transportable 6.1m fibreglass hull SPORTIS
SK6100K RIB with enclosed cabin, central console, twin 60Hp
outboard engines and spacious aft deck that can be used for
inshore bathymetry, oceanographic & environmental projects.
The vessel,
currently the first of its kind to be operated commercially
within the UK, is equipped with a twin seated fully enclosed-cabin,
equipped to power a client's laptop computer, and with ample
room in the cabin for personnel and equipment, survey works
can continue in otherwise impossible weather conditions.
The vessel
is piloted by an RYA qualified coxswain and surveyor and equipped
with Trimble RTK GPS equipment and Kongsberg EM3002 multibeam
echo sounder, enabling positional and depth reading to be
taken through the course of the works.

Enviro
Sensor
Enviro Sensor
is a 4.0m road-transportable LINDER Sportsman 400 aluminium
open survey launch, equipped with a 15Hp outboard engine,
central console and ample storage space for a range of survey
equipment.
The launch
is ideal for small inshore and river surveys, including river
section surveys, smaller harbour surveys and works within
lagoons and ponds.
Easily transportable
and made of lightweight material, it can be transported to
virtually any inland or landlocked body of water thus enabling
survey works to be conducted in previously "unreachable" environments.
